Winnington's production lines use high-quality machinery for precision
engineering, and for each product the production process is specially
designed to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Utilizing seven
automatic spinning lathes, Winnington can produce conical and spherical
metal shapes in many different dimensions. Its extensive machine welding
and automatic polishing capabilities add further value to the Winnington
range.
1) Surface Finishing
To create products which not only perform well but also look immaculate,
Winnington places great store in high-quality surface finishing. The
Group has a long tradition of manual finishing, and recently this has
been supplemented by new automatic polishing equipment that is improving
productivity further. Finishes available include non-stick coatings,
electro-polishing and mirror finishes amongst others.
2 ) Non-stick Coatings
As a licensee of world-famous coatings brand Dupont Teflon, Winnington
is able to produce cookware products covered by the world's most successful
and durable non-stick coating. For other products requiring non-stick
coatings, Winnington also uses world-class coating brands such as Whitford and AKZO
NOBEL.
3 ) Plastic Injection
The Group enjoys strong plastic injection capabilities, giving it the
capability of producing an extraordinarily wide range of plastic houseware
items. With 35 high-performance injection moulding machine and twelve
sets of injection moulding machines for bakelite, Winnington is particularly
strong in producing items like handles for cookware , coffee maker s
and teapot s , storage containers , and many other products .
4 ) Welding operations
Quality welding is a vital ingredient in many metal houseware products,
and Winnington offers an excellent range of both spot and roll welding
options including, amongst others, argon welding, silver welding and
laser welding.
5 ) Casting
Winnington uses the investment casting ('lost wax') method to produce
a wide range of specialized stainless steel objects such as handles,
locks, machine accessories, and valve and pump bodies. With three induction
furnaces and seven wax injection machines in operation, Winnington can
cast up to 80 tons of items monthly, producing individual objects that
can vary in weight from as little as 0.3kg to as much as 20kg.
6) Quality Assurance
Winnington's entire production process is underpinned by a rigorous and
highly effective quality assurance system. An in-house team of nearly seven
ty quality control professionals uses advanced quality control testing
equipment -- such as a salt spray chamber, thermal shock testers, tensile
gauges, drop test setters, abrasion resistance utensils and torque gauges
– to guarantee superlative product output. Testing is carried out in the
Group's independent laboratory, and is supplemented by regular random checks
on the shop floor both before and after packaging.
